About Aldona
Fashion has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. I notice how fabric moves, how colors speak to one another, and how a garment can change the way a body feels in it. For me, clothing is not about trends—it is about attention, care, and the quiet relationship between the maker and the wearer.
A Foundation in Culture and Craft
My life has been a journey along roads I never anticipated. I lived under a communist regime, emigrated, lived on three continents, earned three Master’s degrees. At 50, I worked in Africa with mentally and physically challenged children. At 68, I trekked to the base camp of Mount Everest. I have traveled widely, often bringing back garments from different cultures, studying how they are made and what they reveal about the people who wear them. After many years working as a reference librarian, I chose to step away from that work and finally give my full attention to what comes to me intuitively—the merging of body, movement, fabric and vision.
The Atelier Philosophy
Aldona Atelier operates outside of seasonal urgency. Each piece is developed slowly, with close attention to detail—from seam placement and fabric behavior to the subtle accents that define a finished garment. The atelier values craftsmanship, thoughtful design, and clothing created to be worn and lived in.
After a long professional career in research and librarianship, Aldona now dedicates her full attention to fashion—bringing discipline, precision, and experience to every piece produced.
With the support and creative environment of FashionBar, Aldona Atelier presents a body of work shaped by experience, intention, and a belief in timeless design.
